Plan Your Day Efficiently: Are You A Morning Owl Or A Night Owl? Some of us are early. They even see seven o’clock in the morning, the first hours of the morning are the most indispensable time of the day for them. This period, when the mind is clear right after sleep, actually provides a high level of focus. I’m one of those morning people too. Mornings and the beautiful early hours of the morning belong to me.

Sometimes it’s too early, for a morning jog or walk when no one is out on the streets yet, sometimes to write down some of my projects, writings, and some ideas that require focus while no one else is awake… But when I can’t wake up in the best hours of that morning, my day is always tired, I always feel late, I have focus problems those days. When I can’t spare that meditation time early in the morning, it’s like I missed that day, I didn’t do justice to that day.

But there are some of us who are night people, they have a burst of energy. No matter how tired they are in the morning, how much they can’t wake up, how much they can’t focus, in the afternoon, the day starts to shine brightly for them. They are more talkative, more productive…

Another group is late night watchers. Yes, they are the opposite of early morning people. They literally live for the night. They can even live without ever seeing the day! At night, life has begun. They can work until daylight in the morning, their attention peaks during this time. They can read, think and stay up all night long.

Today, in this article, I would like to take a closer look at this issue together.

Plan Your Day Efficiently: Are You A Morning Owl Or A Night Owl?

How do we plan our day?

When planning our day, do we consider our timing features that we mentioned above?

For example, if we are morning people, what do we use our morning capacity for?

Or are we just wasting it by sleeping?

“What’s wrong with sleeping one day, dear?”

Are we leaving our morning routines aside?

Or, if we can work better in the evening, shouldn’t we actually be working during these important hours spent outside drinking? In other words, can we use our time, which is a value that cannot be measured with any currency in our lives, adequately and correctly?

I would like to talk about another work that I had the opportunity to read this week. Daniel Pink, in his book When, evaluates this very important but neglected subject, the scientific secrets of perfect timing:

“(…) Afternoon hours can be deadly beyond the white walls of hospitals. Sleep-related traffic accidents in the UK peak twice in 24 hours. The first peak is between 2-6 am, while the second peak is between 14.00 and 16.00 in the afternoon. Researchers have found that the same image is present in the USA, Israel, Finland, France and other countries.

Again, in a survey conducted in England, it was seen that employees experienced their most unproductive moments at 14:55. When we enter this part of the day, many of us go astray. In chapter one, we briefly discussed the “moral impact of the mornings,” and found that the majority of people are more neglectful of honesty in the afternoon because we have more power to resist “lying,” cheating, stealing, and other unethical behavior in the morning.”

If we aim to be more successful, more focused and more efficient in our work and in our lives, we should plan our day by analyzing it according to the balance of time and efficiency. If we are in the early group, morning hours are ideal for our most important goals, our difficult projects.

Or, if we are a night owl, we can use the daylight hours for lighter or routine tasks and leave our most important projects to night. This scientifically proven reality is actually denied by many of us, although it is so simple. Maybe we spend our beautiful morning hours just by sleeping, maybe we spend our productive nights just watching television.
